Condolences for Daisy Monzo

  • Kathy Craig 1

    Dear Micki,

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your mom. What a sweet lady she was. I watched the tribute to her and your dad. I can’t help but feel the love that you had for each other. It was beautiful.
We met in the late 70’s early 80’s. I’m not sure if you remember me and my husband Don, but I will never forget you and your family. May God grant you peace.

    Prayerfully,

    Kathy Craig

The Palace Inn still makes me feel great! my father was from PGH, we lived in Cleveland. all my cousins lived in Monroeville, and this is where we stayed when we came in town! I often google Monroeville from the 80's and 90's to remember the fun I had as a child. My dad's family all went to Gateway HS. I loved the pool! So sad when I go back to visit that it's not there.

From the first time I met you in houston’s restaurent, you tried to flirt with me but little did you know that you already had my heart! You ARE an incredible lady. And after meeting you, it was impossible to not stop by your table at least once every time you came over! That aura is magical, and being around you made me feel better, regardless of the day I was having at the time. May you Rest In Peace.

I can not believe today mark’s a whole year since you left us.

The emptiness of not having you here is at time’s unbearable for Michelle and I both!

Your incredible humor, your constant bright smile, your level of care and sincerity and anything go’s personality, are just some of the things that made you the exemplary woman you were to all who dearly loved you!

Not a day goes by without some great memory, of all the special times we shared, and the selfless dedication you constantly showed to Michelle and I.

We march on with your guidance and protection from above.

    Daisy,

I miss you sooooo much. I miss your smile, your laugh, your quick wit and your vibrance, but most of all I miss spending time with you. We had so much fun together dancing all night (even when Mark wanted to go home to bed), gambling and never getting in trouble! If they have gambling where you are, please remember, you don’t have to give your winnings back! It’s yours to keep. You brought love, laughter and life to every single person you ever met. We are all touched by your grace and that is something we get to keep with us each and every day. Thank you so much for being a part of my life. Cent’anni my sweet, sweet, sweet Daisy!

I was one of those to have privilege and opportunity to know Daisy. Her smile and laugh always brightened my day and the positive effect that she had on all that came into contact with her was truly a blessing. We all miss Daisy dearly but her love of dancing, people, laughter and life is the legacy that continues for not only her beloved daughter Michelle but for us all. Just thinking of her now still brings a smile to my face.

I was one of the many, many who were lucky, blessed and fortunate enough to have Daisy Monzo touch their lives. Every time she came to the office, she literally sparkled. She was funny, complimentary, charismatic, quick, fun, kind, sweet, beautiful, warm, a kick! A rare combo, a rare human, and as they say these days, definitely one of my favorite human beings. Just to be in her company was a treat. I’ll miss her hugs, smile, and the sparkle in her eye. I miss her.

    Hi Michelle and Mark
What a beautiful tribute to your mother!
I echo the profound recollections of your mother....she always dressed as if she was going out on the town, if you gave her a nickel, she’d give you a dollar!
Our thoughts....She was a devoted wife and mother, whose presence was felt when she walked in the room. She was the epitome of a Italian mamma. She was, as are you both, so kind to our kids. You have her spirit.May it always lift you!

  • Micky, today on my way to work I was thinking about your mom and dad and decided to google her name and was in total disbelief that she had passed. Your mom was one of the most beautiful women I had the pleasure of knowing. When Blackie and I would go down to visit your mom and dad, it was always a pleasure talking with them. Both were total class. Your mom would always be dressed impeccable from head to toe. But it wasn't her appearance that made her special it was the warmth that she radiated. She was not only beautiful on the outside but the inside as well. The world has lost a special person whom I am honored to have known. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I know the pain of losing a mother, they are your anchor and can never be replaced, but she is always with you in your heart and soul. Please take care and if you would ever like to talk please call me.

  • The latest photos of Daisy are beautiful. Now that is how I remember my friend and mentor. Always looking stunning and with that mysterious smile that shone from her heart. The photo of her in the Blue Leather outfit. Stunning!

And her heart lives on through every person she knew.

Think of Daisy and you see a remarkable smile and hear a contagious laugh. I cannot tell you how many times, throughout the years, that thought brought a smile to my face and a laugh to my spirit. Those who really knew her: loved her, I loved her. She knew how to reciprocate that to her friends. Years and distances never diminished her true friendships.
My friend survived obstacles and sadness's that would have crushed most people but she soared above it with courage and kindness.

Blessing to you Michelle and Mark: for standing by your Mother through her life and to the end.

  • Writing on behalf of my mother- I think she was just too upset after watching the video. Many memories came back, she stated that was exactly how she remembered her - as if she did not change at all.

Daisy and my mother had a long relationship over the years, she was indeed enamored by my mother. My mother stated she was the most generous person she ever met. My family greatly appreciates all the help that Daisy unselfishly gave to us over the years. Truly, you don't meet a person like this often. I know my mother is keeping her in her prayers and she has notified all her relatives in the old country (Czech Republic) of your mother's departure - they also knew of her attributes and the praise that my mother always had for Daisy.

    God Bless.

While I know no member of the Monzo family, I feel compelled to comment on the wonderful obit image of Ms. Monzo. What a wonderful picture of such a sweet and accomplished person! Too, I'd like to comment on the photo that was selected: I, too, own a sun conure, and was deeply touched by the image of that stunning bird (long gone, perhaps) - all puffed up, as they often are - and, like the spirit-creature that they are, just peacefully perched and attentive to Ms. Monzo.
Makes me want to do the same for myself when that other Spirit comes to whisk me away as it did so beautifully for your loved one. I surely won't forget her gift to me of the idea. . . .

  • Daisy and Al were always very good to me as a child and treated me like family when my parents ran the old motel. Over 40 years that have past since then. I have great memories of driving around with Daisy, when she would take me over to their house, and when we were just hanging around the motel.

My condolences to all the family.

RIP Daisy thanks for always treating me well and your family and giving a young kid lasting memories.

  • Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are so sad to hear about Aunt Daisy. She brought so much joy to everyone around her. She was well loved and respected. She had a great character and a big heart. We will never forget her. May your family's hearts and souls find peace and comfort.
